Experimenting On Your Users: A/B Testing & More

When you are trying to decide on the best design for your pricing page, or come up with the best promotion to run for your customers, you’ll want to use A/B testing. However many people who try A/B testing become frustrated with the results: They run a test once, and then run it again and get opposite results. It can be difficult to figure out which ideas to test, and to figure out conclusively which idea is the best.
This class will cover how to set up an experiment, determine the appropriate sample size and how to analyze the results. We will also discuss more advanced experimental techniques such as going beyond A/B testing and testing multiple ideas, and determining the optimial stopping point for an experiment while in progress.
The class will contain a discussion of the topics, and a hands on walkthrough of how to perform the experimental design and analysis in excel.
Aaron is the Lead Data Scientist at Custora. At Custora, he has built algorithms for customer segmentation, e-mail marketing testing, and customer lifetime value projection. Prior to joining Custora he worked in an Evolutionary Biology lab running experiments to study antisense transcription in yeast.
