The Colburn School presents: Opera at Colburn

James Conlon, hailed as a “miracle of equilibrium,” returns to Zipper Hall to conduct members of the Colburn Orchestra and vocalists from LA Opera’s Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program in a fully staged production of Benjamin Britten's The Rape of Lucretia.

Maestro Conlon, a longtime admirer of Britten’s artistic genius, will guide guests through an invigorating evening celebrating the legendary British composer as part of Britten 100/LA.

Included in the full program will be a staged Art Song Prelude, comprised of works by Britten and his contemporaries, as well as an informative pre-concert lecture by Conlon.

Pre-Concert Lecture with James Conlon at 7:15 pm, Thayer Hall
The Rape of Lucretia at 8:00 pm, Zipper Hall
