Animating Storytelling
Using fables and folk tales as a starting place, theatre teaching artist Maritza Cervantes will demonstrate how to make stories come alive in the classroom. In this 3 hr. workshop, participants will learn theatre games for the pre-school and primary classroom and ways to encourage students to use movement, gesture, tableau and voice to represent their ideas from an oral or written story. This workshop will also provide structures to help children work as an ensemble, build self confidence and learn through play.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is street parking directly in front of the building on Wabash.  Adjacent to our building, on its South side, there is a parking lot offering competitive rates with other downtown parking garages and lots.

We are conveniently located one block north of the Harrison red line stop and four blocks south of the LaSalle blue line station.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

There is no need to bring a ticket print out.  Just bring yourself.

What is the refund policy?

Withdrawal from a workshop must take place no later than one week prior to the workshop in order to receive a full refund. A $10 processing fee may be charged for withdrawals later than one week prior to workshop. Columbia College Chicago reserves the right to cancel workshops due to low enrollment.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

It's fine if you are sending someone in your place.  Shoot us an e-mail and let us know that someone will be subbing for you and we will be sure to get that updated in our system.  You can e-mail Jacob Beydler at jbeydler@colum.edu with any changes in registration or questions.
