Saturday, August 29th from 9am – 10am

Aimee Suyehiro from Argia’s restaurant in Falls Church, VA will be doing a cooking demostration at the Falls Church Farmers Market using local and seasonal ingredients from the Farmers Market.

 

Aimee Suyehiro graduated from L’Academie de Cuisine in 1991 and began her professional career working at Kinkead’s American Brasserie and Cashion’s Eat Place. In the fall of 1999, she opened Argia’s in Falls Church VA where she continues to work everyday. Aimee is a member of the Women Chefs and Restaurateurs and is very active in the local community. She frequently participates in local and nationals restaurant charity events such as the recent “Unite for a  Bite”.  Aimee is also frequently recognized for creating delicious specialty pasta dishes that are gluten free.

  

Aimee has prepared items to demonstrate at the Falls Church Farmers Market Chef Series items that she has created to reflect the season and that she will be preparing to serve her customers at Argia’s.

 On August 29th Aimee will be demonstrating the following:

 

  1. Summer evening appetizer - Grilled Summer Squash bruschetta with lemon-thyme ricotta and arugula salad

 

  1. Summer evening salad - Tomato salad with goat cheese, red onions, capers and olives

Falls Church Farmers Market Chef Program

A group of volunteers committed to using local and seasonal ingredients in their daily cooking has formed the Falls Church Farmers Market Chef program. 

 

The purpose of this program is to show consumers how they can use local seasonal ingredients in their everyday cooking.  Local area chefs will come once a month to do a cooking demonstration and tasting of dishes using local ingredients. All of the chefs are committed to using local ingredients and will be using ingredients from the Falls Church Farmers Market.
