This program is suitable for adults.

Bring your own potted tree and learn how to turn it into a bonsai.

This workshop is both hands-on and instructional, ideal for beginners and those wanting to learn how to look after bonsai. Bonsai artist Thor Beowulf will cover what is a bonsai, traditional styles, the techniques involved, types of soil, and watering.

He will demonstrate the techniques of shaping and root pruning. Thor will assist those that have booked in with plants to find their tree's bonsai shape.

This workshop is structured as a traditional bonsai workshop. There are 15 places for people with potted trees and 15 places for people to observe and learn bonsai techniques.

When booking please nominate if you are observing or participating with a tree.

Thor has his own bonsai gallery in Sydney, Beowulf Galleries, and is currently undertaking a doctorate about bonsai at ANU.
