Hi -! Thanks for checking out this payment option:
If you purchase the 10 class punch card online here, I will have the card ready for you (or the person you are buying it for) at the first class you come to. Students can use this card for any of the hour-length regular group belly dance classes that I teach in the Moody Street Circus location for up to one year from purchase. Students must bring the card with them to each class so that I can punch it.
If you do not wish to purchase the card online here, you can pay for it in person in the first class you come to, but it would be helpful if you could email me at melina@daughtersofrhea.com to let me know that you plan on coming to class and purchasing the card so I can estimate class size. I can only accept cash and checks in person in class, not credit cards. Credit card purchases must be made online here.
If you do not purchase the 10-class punch card, you can drop-in to any class at $20 per class. If you pay the drop-in fee and then choose to buy the punch card, I am happy to pro-rate the cost of the card.
More information including my new 2010 schedule is at http://www.daughtersofrhea.com and http://www.tipsfromthehip.blogspot.com.

Unleash your primal energies and learn to move your hips a million ways as Melina of Daughters of Rhea shares her family’s ancient matriarchal belly dance secrets with you.
Melina’s precise, poetic and empowering instruction uses somatic story-telling, chakra imagery, rhythm-response and principles of Ancient Greek dance to teach shimmies, snake-like undulations, graceful hands and arms and body isolations. Melina has been invited to teach her family's belly dance style and perform all over the world, from Paris, France to Athens, Greece; from Singapore and Taiwan to Kripalu Center of Yoga and Health in the Berkshires. Melina’s style of belly dance, formed as a child in circus rings and at the shimmying hip of her mother in the shadow of the acropolis in Athens, Greece is globally informed, Greco-Turkish/American Cabaret/Bohemian Gypsy fusion. She believes students should have a strong technical base and confident vocabulary of different belly dance styles and music (Arabic/Turkish/Greek/Tunisian etc), then layer creativity and self-expression on top of that. Most importantly, she believes that all women -- no matter what age, shape, nationality or political affiliation -- are gorgeous goddesses who will benefit from feeling the beauty and empowerment of belly dance in their bodies.
Melina lights up the stage with her unique manouche (circus gypsy) flair, and she is known for her magic use of props: from balancing swords on daggers gripped in her teeth to dancing with trays of burning candles on her head to spinning upside down in the air while hanging by a foot, not even she knows what she’ll come up with next. Stay tuned...
