Workshops with Piper in Baltimore

WORKSHOPS ARE OPEN TO DANCERS AND STUDENTS OF ALL LEVELS! Levels are shown only to indicate complexity of material and speed of instruction.
Workshops will be held at Meadow Mill or in Piper’s home studio in Halethorpe, depending on participation. If you are not pre-registered, please email piper@comcast.net or call (410) 733-0536 to verify location/availability.
April 29 Level I Technique Intensive
1-3pm: In this two hour workshop we will cover beginning postures, techniques, and steps from the ground up with lots of individual attention and feedback.
$25 by April 20th, $30 at the door.
April 30 Evaluations
7-10p: Please wear leotards or a tight shirt with shorts or leggings, so your feet, knees, hips, waist, and chest are visible. Do not wear black or white as they do not show up on video. Each participant will receive a 10 page evaluation. PiperMethod certification requires 80%. The test takes half an hour. Level I (group testing) will begin at 7pm, Level II at 7:30pm, and Level III and IV (tested individually) at 8pm.
$70 per person per level. Please pre-register so that there are enough materials for everyone!
May 20 Classic Egyptian Raks Sharki + 1940s Movie Star Choreography
1-2pm: Classic Egyptian Raks Sharki technique - posture, arms, steps (L II – III)
2-3pm: 1940s Style Egyptian Movie Star Choreography (L III – V)
By May 18: $15 for one, $25 for both.
