Ellen Cassedy reads from her book, "We Are Here: Memories of the Lithuanian Holocaust." The book begins with her Jewish "roots" journey into the Old World, then expands into a larger exploration, shining a spotlight on fragile efforts toward mutual understanding. Cassedy asks: Can we honor our heritage without perpetuating the fears and hatreds of the past?
Ellen Cassedy has explored the world of the Holocaust in Lithuania, and her Jewish roots there, for ten years. Her articles and translations have appeared in The Forward, Hadassah, Jewish Telegraphic Agency and other publications. A book signing will follow the presentation.
A light lunch will be served.
