Event Details

The Chinese Culture Center annually offers Mandarin classes for adults and for children. The emphasis for teaching children Mandarin is on learning a beginning Mandarin vocabulary through songs, games and story telling in a fun and relaxed environment. This is not an immersion program and English is also spoken in the classroom. The children will work on Mandarin vocabulary appropriate to their level of learning. Simple words and phrases and some character recognition is taught through worksheets and stories of China.There is discussion and introduction to Chinese culture through crafts and songs. Class size is limited to 10 students.

Children's Class schedule: September 26, 2009 – December 12, 2009, every Saturday, 10:00 am to 11:30 am Tuition: $175 per person for CCC members and $200 for non-CCC members ALL CLASSES ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco is a major community-based, non-profit organization established in 1965 to foster the understanding and appreciation of Chinese and Chinese American art, history, and culture in the United States.

In its 45 years of work, CCC has played a pioneering role in introducing Chinese culture to the American public through exhibitions and public programming of a broad spectrum of Chinese traditional and contemporary artistic works in multiple disciplines: Visual Arts, Literature, Music and Theater.
