Conflict is inevitable!

Wherever people are interacting, it is inevitable that they will have differences.  In a healthy workplace, people can raise issues and disagreements and find solutions that improve performance and production.  Differences and disagreements are healthy:  digging into them helps us understand ideas and perspectives that can give us better solutions.

Susan Shearhouse, conflict resolution expert and author of Conflict 101: A Manager’s Guide to Resolving Problems So Everyone Can Get Back To Work, will discuss how to improve working relationships, create a safe place for thorny conversations, manage strong emotions, and provide collaborative problem-solving processes.

Join other small businesses at the monthly Brown-Bag lunch series of START, MANAGE, GROW your business sponsored by the Alexandria Small Business Development Center and the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership who are committed to helping small business thrive in Alexandria.

Free of charge, and held monthly in our boardroom.  Business owners are invited to bring their lunch, network and learn nuggets of knowledge from experts.  A Q & A session will follow each presentation and we'll get you back to your business promptly!

To register, go to http://www.eventbrite.com/event/4083915100 or call 703-778-1292 for more information.  Additional Brown-Bag topics will be posted on http://www.alexandriasbdc.org
