The Rubinoos Live On Tap! October 27, 2012
Founded in Berkeley by junior high buddies, Tommy Dunbar and Jon Rubin, The Rubinoos are one of the seminal power pop artists of the 1970s. In 1977 they hit the top 40 with a cover of Tommy James’ “I Think We’re Alone Now.” In 1978 they followed it with the power pop classic “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend”, which was named record of the year by Britain’s Music Week Magazine. In '84 The Rubes recorded one of their most popular songs the title cut of the film Revenge of the Nerds. Several albums, tours and decades later The Rubes can still crank out the pop gems. In 2007 the band was honored with the career spanning 3-CD anthology, Everything You Always Wanted To Know About The Rubinoos. In 2007 The Rubinoos dusted off their guitars and hit the road for a tour of Japan and the release of the Japan only double CD setOne Two That's It. In 2009 the group returned to Spain to support the release of their album HodgePodge.
2010, The Rubinoos 40th Anniversary year, saw the group release two new albums, Automatic Toasterand the childrens disk Biff Boff Boing. They also toured Spain and Italy, headlined the Felipop Festival in Galicia and on October 23rd celebrated their 40th Anniversay in spectacular style at the Great American Music Hall in SF. In 2011 look for The Rubinoos February tour of Japan along with new recordings and more tour dates.

LIVE ON TAP! Old Town Pittsburg's New Live Music Hot Spot at EJ Phair's Brewing Co's Taproom
E.J. Phair Brewing Company’s Taproom is the newest and most exciting music venue in the East Bay. Newly renovated and housed in a circa 1922 former Ford dealership in downtown Pittsburg, E.J. Phair Brewing Company's Taproom combines old world charm with modern touches to create an open and airy, hip yet comfortable ambiance which sets the stage for a truly unique and remarkable concert experience. Get up close and personal with an eclectic mix of the best bands the Bay Area has to offer, all while sampling some of the area's tastiest micro-brewed beers, wines and Sakes.
Enjoy live entertainment in a friendly environment with great sound five nights per week at E.J. Phair Brewing Company's Taproom. Extend the weekend every other Monday with a "Brew Ha Ha" which starts with an open mic comedy forum from 8pm to 10pm, followed by comedic headliner. Wednesday night features the "Hump Day Open Mic". Thursdays are singer/songwriter nights. Fridays focus on a variety of up-and-coming and favorite local bands. On Saturdays, the E.J. Phair Brewing Company hosts the "Live on Tap Series" which features an eclectic mix of regional headliners and tribute bands.
The historic brick building is located in the heart of Old Town Pittsburg with dining across the street at E.J. Phair’s Liberty Alehouse. There you can enjoy classic yet upscale pub food before the show. E.J. Phair produces world-class beers, which are brewed on site and available for your enjoyment. Make E.J.
