How the Economic Downturn and the Push for Zero-Risk Will Change the Way the FDA Regulates Your Business

The implications of the troubled financial and housing markets and ongoing recession extend well beyond the industries and individuals directly affected.  With the arrival of a new administration and Congress, tighter regulation and stringent enforcement have become the order of the day in most of the nation's regulated industries.  In particular, the FDA and USDA are in the midst of serious crackdowns brought about by policy changes and a string of food and other product safety issues.

Important topics to be discussed at this workshop include:

·         The FDAs broadened oversight on the economy, and new pending legislation
·         The industries affected
·         Triggers for a government mandated recall
·         Large cases/recalls that have recently surfaced
·         The potential damages and/or fines ... or criminal charges
·         The importance of a recall/crisis management plan
·         How insurance can assist
·         Claim scenarios
