Event Details
While starting school is an exciting time of growth and development for many children, it can be a time of confusion, frustration and fear for children who struggle to develop foundational skills, such as:
- Attending/Focusing
- Regulating their bodies and/or emotions
- Using language
- Initiating play with peers
- Understanding social cues
- Following routines
- Making transitions
For these children and their families, the Center for Learning Support at Children's Health Council’s (CHC) offers School Readiness Programs.
Unparalleled in the Bay Area, CHC's Preschool Readiness Program (ages 3-4) and Kindergarten Readiness Program (ages 4 1/2-6) are led by Master’s level specialists in education, speech-language and occupational therapy. With immediate access to experts in other disciplines at CHC, including psychology and child psychiatry, program leaders use a whole child approach to help children develop foundational skills.
Learn more about CHC’s School Readiness Programs at an info session with program leaders. Leaders will discuss foundational skill development and provide more detail about each program.
