Instruction:

This course is taught by Kalani, Internationally aclaimed percussionist, Orff-Schulwerk music educator, and board-certified music therapist (MT-BC). Kalani is the creator of the DCM approach and author of more than ten books, including the award-winning, Together in Rhythm and his latest book, The Way of Music. Housing at the Holy Spirit Retreat Center (HSRC)

A limited number of on-site housing is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Single room including meals: $495
• Double-occupancy room including meals:  $395
• Commuter option (staying off-site): $195

All attendees MUST register for one of these options. Those not staying at the center select the Commuter option. The Commuter option includes lunch. Dinners may be purchased any evening for $12.

Plan to arrive at the HSRC between 2 and 5pm on Sunday. Dinner is served at 6pm. Check-in and orientation begins at 7:30pm.

Plan to stay until 1pm on Friday. Lunch is served at 12pm. Planning on staying in LA for a few days before or after the course? Make reservations at local hotels, as the rooms at the HSRC will likely be full on weekends.

Terms:

• All payments are final. Tickets are fully transferable within the same calandar year.
• In the event the course is cancelled, Kalani Music will provide a full refund of fees paid. 
• Kalani Music is not responsible for associated fees, including travel.
• Must be over 18 or accompanied by an adult. Children are welcome to attend.

Why are there different prices listed?

Rather than use 'early bird' pricing, we're making a limited number of tickets available at different prices. This means that the lower prices will become unavailable when those tickets are sold out. 

What is included in the housing?

Your housing fee includes three delicious meals per day, private or shared room, coffee/tea and snacks, and access to the 14-acer grounds. The HSRC features walking trails, a wide variety of trees, a small pond, and abundant wildlife. The Housing fee is separate from the Course Fee. Both are required.

Travel to the HSRC

From LAX:

Take the Van Nuys Flyaway shuttle bus to the Van Nuys Terminal. (Cost about $7 - ATM or CC ONLY - NO CASH)

After exiting from the baggage claim area, find and stand under one of the GREEN signs that say "Flyaway, Buses,  Long Distance Vans." You might have to walk to your left or right to find one. They're in the CENTER isle.

From the Van Nuys flyaway, take a cab to the Holy Spirit Retreat Center. (Cost about $25)

From BUR:

Take a cab to the HSRC. (Cost about $45)

RIDES FROM BUR or The Flyaway:

We have two wonderful travel helpers who have volunteered to be on call. Both Lehua and Tomoko will be available to provide rides from either BUR (airport) or the Van Nuys Flyaway. The more advanced notice you can provide, the more likely it is that they will be available. Cabs are also available from both BUR and the FlyAway.
