Join us with Samuel Stubblefield and a talk about Digital-Physical Experiences.

In this talk we will compare “traditional social facilitators” to “digital-era social facilitators”, specifically looking at how facets of visual art, architecture, interior and graphic design (traditional practices) have been impacted, augmented and replaced by the things born of the digital era. We’ll also look at what digital-physical thinking means for individual designers in traditional and non-traditional design practices. Lastly, we will show fun ways to harmonize traditional and non-traditional tools and design methods, and illustrate how striking a digital-physical balance can serve society and gratify designers in interesting new ways.

Samuel Stubblefield is an artist interested in the intersections of architecture, digital technology and human behavior. After working with organizations like Pentagram, Perkins + Will, Santiago Calatrava, Google, Microsoft Research, MIT, Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Centre Pompidou, and Vitra Design Museum, Samuel was able to learn some interesting things and make a few projects a little better. Now in Seattle with NBBJ Architect’s Studio 07, the focus has been to work within a small team of designers to help create environments that empower human potential and spirit through digital technology and experiential design.
