Please join us for a tour of one of the largest renewable energy projects currently under construction in Sacramento County. The McKenzie solar project is a distribution scale, 30 megawatt (MW-ac) solar photovoltaic power plant located on 230 acres of agricultural land in rural and unincorporated Sacramento County neat Galt, CA. This project, which is part of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) feed-in tariff program (FIT), is helping to meet the near-term renewable energy goals of Sacramento. This design/build project includes the design and construction of the photovoltaic arrays, which utilizes a single-axis tracking system to optimize kilowatt hour production, as well as the required substation and interconnection. Project construction began in spring on 2012 and is expected to be producing power by the end of 2012. This event is a joint event with the Northern California Solar Energy Association.

Grant French, LEED AP BD+C, Corporate Sustainability Manager, Swinerton Builders
As Corporate Sustainability Manager at Swinerton Builders, Grant French provides data and intelligence to each office of the Swinerton family of companies, to stimulate and support the successful pursuit and execution of Green and LEED projects. He provides input in the RFQ and Proposal Process for Green/LEED Projects and also serves as a Green resource throughout project delivery. Grant initiates and manages job-specific and LEED Accreditation Green Training Programs. On an ongoing basis, he works with various teams to evaluate and strive towards continual improvement in jobsite and office sustainable practices. Mr. French’s project experience includes: Orchard Garden Hotel, San Francisco, CA; Orchard Hotel, San Francisco, CA; Jane D’Anza Convent, San Rafael, CA; Golden Gate Park Music Concourse and Underground Parking Facility, San Francisco, CA; and River Rock Casino, Geyserville, CA. His professional experience prior to joining Swinerton Builders includes work with William McDonough+Partners, Institute for the Built Environment, The Hoffman Corporation and McRaven Restorations. Mr. French is currently on the USGBC-NCC Board of Directors.

Donny Gallagher, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, Project Engineer, RBF Consulting
After graduating from UC Davis with his BS in Civil Engineering, Donny joined RBF Consulting’s Sacramento office. As a project engineer at RBF, Donny focuses on entitlements and civil design for a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects including utility scale renewable energy projects, military base rehabilitations, hospital expansions, commercial developments, residential developments, utility infrastructure, roadway/roundabout design, and highway realignments. Donny's recent project experience includes the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System Seismic Upgrade and Modernization Project, the new Calaveras County Detention Center and Sherriff’s Administration Office (the single largest public works project in Calaveras County history), and numerous large scale solar projects throughout California. Donny is currently the Vice Chair of the USGBC-NCC Capital Branch.
