Combining presentations from local experts along with interactive exercises and opportunities for peer learning, this session will assist staff in helping families to understand and gain access to Bankruptcy options (formally legal and financial services).

 

 Who Should Come?

 

Direct Services Staff working with low income families

Participants will:

  • Learn about debt collection practices and common experience among low-income debtors
  • Learn about debt collection and bankruptcy counseling services
  • Learn about resources to refer clients to for legal assistance

Formed in 2007, the Family Economic Success Workgroup seeks to help public departments collaborate with each other and partner with community agencies in order to help meet the needs of low and moderate income families. This workshop series covers a range of economic supports available to families in San Francisco.
