Event Details

Join certified shochet (kosher slaughterer) Yadidya Greenberg for this interactive workshop on animal welfare and the kosher slaughtering process.  Mr. Greenberg, who cofounded the Boulder Kosher Meat Co-op in Boulder, Colorado, will lead a discussion of kashrut (Jewish dietary laws) and what it means to be an ethical carnivore in the 21st century.  He will also cull some of our older chickens, demonstrating the method of shechitah, ritual kosher slaughter.  Participation in the actual slaughter is invited, but not required.

Please note: Since this workshop includes the slaughter of live animals, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are $10. Please register in advance.
