Many of you have been asking about the upcoming celebration in honor of Dr. Carrol A. Thomas' retirement from 16 years as Beaumont Independent School District's superintendent and 43 years in public education.
Here are the details:
The Public Reception 4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
The reception will be held from 4-7 p.m. and is open to everyone. This retirement reception is sponsored by BISD.
It will be held in the main gym at Ozen Magnet High School for the Arts at 3443 Fannet Road here in Beaumont.
Admission is FREE.
The GALA 7:30 p.m. until
The gala will be held in the new James F. Jackson Center for the Performing Arts at Ozen High. (That’s right next door to the main gym and the free reception.)
Less than 800 seats are available and will go on a first reserved, first served basis. The show is awesome because we have the Dancin' In the Street Motown and More Revue as our feature entertainement. The gala is a fundraiser hosted by BAABSE and volunteers of the PTA and other educational organizations. Proceeds will benefit several educational projects such as student immunizations, parent training, scholarships, playground equipment and more
