California Caucus of College & University Ombuds Conference 2012
Cal Caucus? CCCUO? You're in the right place!
The California Caucus of College and University Ombuds Conference (CCCUO) is the main event of our 39-year old organization. We've been meeting at Asilomar on the Monterey Peninsula for almost 40 years to learn together and deepen our professional practices. We're a small conference with several workshops and a separate pre-conference session. We've been told over and over our small size is what makes us special because it allows for more conversation, reflection, and practice.
This year's theme is The Work of Ombuds: Reflection and Practice. 16 presenters from the US and Canada will cover an array of topics we think you'll find interesting and informative. There'll be plenty of opportunities to work in small groups, in addition to listening to presenters with expertise in areas that matter to ombuds. Check out our 2012 Conference Program for details about sessions, presenters, and the logistics of the conference. You'll find additional contact information there as well. Register here.
Your registration includes a complimentary e-book copy of Staying with Conflict: A Strategic Approach to Ongoing Disputes by Bernie Mayer. Bernie will join us by Skype for the first hour of his Monday afternoon session to have a conversation with us about enduring conflict, so reading some of the book may be helpful.
We're trying out on-line registration for the first time and we'd love your feedback on how that works for you. The rates are a bit higher when you pay on-line, but for some of us the additional convenience is worth the cost. You also can pay by using the forms at our conference website by copying them, and sending paper through the US Postal Service with a check or Money Order.
Refund Policy: You're welcome to have a substitute join in your place. Feel free to contact Larry Wichter, our registrar, with questions about this.
See you in the fall.
