Festival Luncheon with historian and author Douglas Brinkley - ($60)

Douglas Brinkley is the author of more than two dozen non-fiction books, including his most recent biography, Cronkite and is doing research now on President Theordore Roosevelt.  He is a professor of history at Rice University and a contributing editor at Vanity Fair and a frequent commentator on CBS News and NPR.  The Chicago Tribune has dubbed him "America's new past master." Six of his books have been selected as New York Times Notable Books of the Year. His most recent book, The Great Deluge , won the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award. He lives in Texas 

Brinkley's other books include Rise to Globalism: American Foreign Policy since 1938 (co-written with Stephen Ambrose); The Reagan Diaries (editor); The Wilderness Warrior: Theodore Roosevelt and the Crusade for America; Rosa Parks: A Life; and The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  He has also edited the letters of Hunter S. Thompson of "Gonzo" fame.

 

Tickets:  Each table has 10 seats.  If you are buying multiple tickets and don't know names of other attendees at this time, fill out the first ticket request completely and for subsequent tickets, under "copy data from" and then select which ticket you want information copied from (usually ticket #1).

Your receipt from PayPal or EventBrite is NOT A TICKET.  You must have a paper ticket issued by the Book Festival

They can be picked up at the Omni March 21, the morning of the Luncheon, or you can pick them up before then at the VFH offices at 145 Ednam Drive during business hours March 18, 19, 20 between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.  Your seating assignment will be on the back of your ticket.

 

Parking:  Please allow ample time for parking.  Free parking is available in the Omni garage.  Additional paid parking is available in the Market Street and Water Street garages.  Do not park in the parking lot in front of Staples/ Cville's Hobbies, Games, & Toys because they will tow cars.
