Workshop Description:  Professional helpers interact daily with clients/patients/consumers who are actively grieving significant losses. This workshop offers practical, accurate information regarding grief and grieving to clarify confusing misconceptions common in Western industrialized culture.  Participants will be better prepared to offer effective grief support not only in their workplaces but in other situations as well. Participants will also be equipped to advocate for culture change from a death-denying culture to a life-affirming culture.

INSTRUCTOR PROFILE: Grace Terry, MSW, is the founder and servant leader of the Bridge Builder’s Center for Grief Education in Tampa, FL. She has over 30 years post-graduate experience as a professional social worker, including extensive experience as a grief educator and grief support specialist. She is the co-founder of the Bereavement Coalition of Hillsborough and of the Pinellas Grief Education Network.  She is also an active member of the Grief, Loss, and End-of-Life Coalition in Sarasota, FL.

Continuing Education Credits Available for a $10 processing fee

Licensed mental health providers (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT can receive 3.0 Continuing Education Credits through the Family Justice Center of Hillsborough County- Provider #50-7820 (expires 3/2013).

Training Cancellation Policy:

It is the policy of Family Justice Center of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Sexual Abuse Intervention Network (SAIN) that a training credit will be made for cancellations made a minimum of 24 hours prior to the event.
