Clear Visuals

This one day course provides participants with the skills to create clear and compelling visual elements in business documents, presentations and other media. The course provides simple steps to craft tables, diagrams, graphs and illustrations that communicate the right information and that resonate with a business audience. It provides simple steps for quick and easy creation of visuals to capture attention and evoke interest, increase the message impact, and select the right type of visual elements for the context of the communication.
 
The course is rich in exercises to re-enforce the study material and ensure the students are equipped to develop their own Clear Visuals.

Speaker Biography

Glen Bell conducted research into how to create more effective business diagrams for the thesis component of his Masters degree. This research lead him to establish Visual Explanations Pty Ltd in 1998 – a consulting company focussed on creating successful visuals. The intellectual property created by Visual Explanations is incorporated into the Clear Visuals course material. He has first-hand experience in how to communicate complex matters to senior management and regularly incorporates visual elements into strategy papers, business cases, technology assessments, funding submissions and general reports. He has presented to academic and business conference in both Australia and overseas on how to create compelling visuals for business audiences.

Glen has a Master of Business in Information Technology (University of Technology, Sydney) and Bachelor of Science - Maths and Computing (University of Queensland).

Any person who wants to improve the clarity of their written and oral communication. The course is also useful for anyone involved in reviewing documents.

Schedule and Catering

Registration is from 8:00am with tea and coffee available on arrival. The course runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm. There will be breaks for morning and afternoon tea as well as lunch. All meal costs are included in the course fee.

DAMA Membership included

Non DAMA members will receive 12 month membership in DAMA for no charge. This membership usually costs $100.
