An EPA Case Study - Improving Data Management in the Eye of the Business Transformation Storm

Through a customer case study on the EPA, this session addresses these issues:

•       Lack of Information Management strategy

•       Need to improve data quality

•       Improving the organisation’s (EPA) maturity on managing information

•       Business awareness, engagement and education

The EPA is the environmental regulator in Victoria. It provides a wide variety of regulatory activities and services to organisations and the Victorian community.

The nature of these activities and services can be quite complex with each having their own set of business process and data. The EPA also conducts substantial scientific research and analysis.

As part of their transformation program, the EPA has been embarking on the Business Services Reform (BSR) program of work to reform its operational business processes as well as improving the reliability and management of data.

This presentation provides:

• Background of the transformation program

• How and why data was included as a key part of the BSR program

• What’s been delivered

• Tips for success, key challenges faced
