Event Details

Jeremiah, who was named one of San Diego Magazine's 50 People to Watch in 2004, will make his return to Schroeder's in his own show called "Somebo(d)y To Love". This will be an evening of an eclectic mix of rock, pop and contemporary music theatre material in a laidback "unplugged" style that retains the great intimacy between audience and performer that Schroeder's is known for. Jeremiah will be joined by Amy Dalton, Jim Mooney, and Joy Hricko. “…He shapes the story of each gemlike song with subtlety and nuance… …This young San Diego actor stretches into fresh new territory; he shows a depth, range and sweetness, not to mention a vocal suppleness that alone make the show worth seeing…” -Anne Marie Welsh, San Diego Union Tribune “One of the most dynamic performers to enter San Diego’s musical theater scene in the past few years…it’s the charismatic Lorenz whom you can’t take your eyes off of. He sells every note he sings and connects instantly with his audience and makes each number a show-stopper.” -Pam Kragen, North County Times “Jeremiah Lorenz is terrific – charming, charismatic and funny…immense triple-threat talent. …his winning personality and voice are enthralling.” -Pat Launer, KPBS San Diego Theatre Scene The evening will include an eclectic mix of rock, pop and contemporary music theatre material in a laidback ‘unplugged’ style while still retaining the great intimacy between audience and performer that Schroeder’s is known for. Trained at the Boston Conservatory for a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre, Jeremiah is a veteran performer with credits on both east and west coasts. One of San Diego Magazine’s “50 People to Watch in 2004;” received a 2003 Patte Award and a San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Craig Noel Award – both for outstanding performances in Cabaret(North Coast Rep.) and Hedwig and the Angry Inch((Cygnet Theatre). Jeremiah is a member of Actor’s Equity Association (AEA) and The American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (AFTRA). Schroeder's Club and Cabaret

Our intimate New York-style venue is the only cabaret in San Diego! Schroeder's is patterned after the cabaret clubs in New York, LA and San Francisco and has a comfortable, inviting ambiance complete with professional lighting and sound, a baby grand piano and candlelit tables. Schroeder's showcases the vocalists and the accompanist in a unique and intimate setting in the tradition of the cabarets and nightclubs popular in the 1920s - 1960s. Food and drinks are available in the Westin Sports Bar before and after the performance. Past performers have included Andrea Marcovicci, Sam Harris and Maude Maggart as well as local performers including Leigh Scarritt, Danielle Forsgren, Rayme Sciaroni, Eileen Bowman & Ric Henry, Phil Johnson, Debra Wanger, Bettina "Pixie" Warren, Melinda Gilb & Steve Gunderson, and Ole Kittleson and Priscilla Allen to name a few.
