Event Details

"...Take a Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece, one of Los Angeles's best public spaces and cultural institutions, and bring a rotating series of boutique/small-production artisanal wines for tasting. You've got to be kidding. Why hasn't anyone done this sooner? Patron of the arts and unconventional spirit Aline Barnsdall would be proud to see her homestead used for this purpose when Silverlake Wine starts tastings on the west lawn at Olive Hill/Barnsdall Park." - LA Weekly

Unwind and enjoy the beautiful Barnsdall Art Park as the sun is setting, from the gated gardens in the West Lawn of the historic Hollyhock House.  Silverlake Wine will present four selections of boutique, small production, artisanal wines from around the globe.  As featured in LA Weekly, LA Times, Urban Daddy, and FoodGPS:

Wine Tasting Cost: Ticket prices are $15 in advance (up to 2 hours prior), and $20 at the door.

Guided Tours: We also offer GUIDED TOURS of the inside of Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece, the Hollyhock House, led by house docents.  Tickets that include a tour can be purchased in advance for $23 (the additional $8 fee for the house tours will go directly to the restoration needs of the Hollyhock House.)  Tours start at 5:45pm, 6:15pm, and 7:00pm.  Space per tour slot is limited; if they do not appear above, they are SOLD OUT. Please purchase your tickets earlier in the week to guarantee a slot.

Food:  Bring a picnic! You are welcome to bring your own food, soft drinks, and a blanket; however, NO outside alcoholic beverages will be permitted.

Also, the Coolhaus truck will be selling unique and delicious ice cream sandwiches, including a special Barnsdall flavor, Honeyhock Ice Cream. And the famous Let's Be Frank hot dog truck will also be there, selling their 100% grass-fed beef hot dogs and family-farmed pork sausages.

Parking: Free parking is available at the top and bottom of Barnsdall Art Park.  Handicap parking is available at the top. If the lot is full, free additional parking is available at the Kaiser Hospital parking lot.  Enter on Sunset Blvd, just west of Vermont. There are stairs and an elevator behind the parking structure that will bring you up to the wine tasting.

Policies: No refunds. In the event of weather or event cancellation, a rain check will be provided for the next Barnsdall Friday.

Children under 21 will be allowed in the event free of charge, but will not be permitted to consume alcohol. Valid Photo ID is required to partake in the tasting.

Dogs and animals are permitted on leash in the general park areas right outside the West Lawn, but are not permitted inside the gated West Lawn area.
