Karyn Purvis, Ph.D. is a developmental psychologist and co-author of The Connected Child: Bring Hope and Healing to Your Adoptive Family. She is the director of the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University.
Dr. Purvis will be presenting on "Creating a Healing Environment for Our Children" on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 975 Flynn Rd in Camarillo. This workshop will present a holistic approach to healing children heal from abuse, neglect, and trauma and explore strategies to build trust by providing a balance of nurture and structure.
Approved by the California Department of Social Services for 5 hours of continuing education units for administrator recertification (Vendor GH 1000342-730-2; course number 342-0604-1543).
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CEP 15108), 5 hours.
Course meets the qualifications for 5 hours of continuing education credit for Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Clinical Social Workers as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider 2522).
