We will present the 45th annual Cinecon classic film festival and memorabilia show in Hollywood over Labor Day weekend, September 3 through 7, 2009. Cinecon is the oldest and the grandest of the movie related fan festivals, and Cinecon 45 promises to offer an outstanding five day program of unusual films, exciting celebrity guests and one of the best movie memorabilia marts in the nation.
Special guests will be announced as confirmed.
We also want to call attention to the dealers' rooms where collectors will find one of the best movie memorabilia marts in the country.
This year's host hotel will again be the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel located at 1755 North Highland Avenue next to the Hollywood and Highland entertainment complex. As in recent years all film screenings will be held in the Lloyd E. Rigler Theatre at the restored Grauman's Egyptian on Hollywood Boulevard.
We also want to encourage you to take advantage of our pre-event discount rate. Individually, festival registration , required cinephiles membership, and a banquet ticket would add up to $185.00. When you pre-register and book the whole package before Cinecon-- registration, membership and banquet--the rate is $150.00--a savings of $35.
The discount applies only to registrations received or postmarked on or before August 15, 2009.
If you love movies, Cinecon 45 is the place to be over Labor Day weekend. See you here!
And as always, you can also reach us by mail for further information at: Cinecon 45, 3727 W. Magnolia Blvd.#760 Burbank CA 91505. Or by email at cineconinfo@earthlink.net
Taking place in the heart of Hollywood, Cinecon is a five-day celebration of film featuring screenings, celebrity guests, and one of the best movie memorabilia shows in the country. This Labor Day weekend, beginning Thursday night, September 3rd and continuing through Monday afternoon, September 7th, film fans attending the show will be treated to nearly fifty rare features and shorts, and have an opportunity to purchase rare stills, posters and other collectibles.
We specialize in running rare, unusual and unjustly forgotten movies from the silent and early sound era. Most films are screened in 35mm and silent films include live piano accompaniment. Cinecon is truly 7th Heaven for Cinephiles who have seen nearly everything TCM and AMC have to offer.
For more than forty years, Cinephiles from across the nation and around the world have come together over Labor Day weekend to celebrate the movies.
Film screening hours will be as follows:

Cinecon is a strong advocate of film preservation and has made a number of grants over the years to institutions like the UCLA Film and Television Archive, Museum of Modern Art, Library of Congress, American Film Institute and the George Eastman House to aid the cause, and we are very pleased to say that some of our members have made individual contributions to these institutions as well. As part of our program every year we screen recently restored films and invite the preservationists to come and discuss their work.
