Church planting as a possible ministry was introduced to me between my 1st and 2nd year of seminary that was in 2004.  It seemed like a quaint idea but not something I would be doing.  It's been eight years since I heard my first sermon/talk on the nature of church planting.  God is patient and His timing is perfect. 

Over the past six months, I've either met with you or your spouse for coffee, dinner, a walk, or an information meeting.  You've had the chance to hear the vision that God is beginning to grow in me and now also Ryan and Bliss Boettcher.  Many of you have expressed interest in this work.  Some of you have mild interest, some of you have deep interest.

 What can I bring to the Core Team Training?

Please bring a Bible, something to write with, and a journal or notebook so that you are able to take notes or write down your reflections.  

What can I expect to happen at the training?

The training itself will be approximately 2 hours each time with the remaining time devoted to spending time together and building relationships.  The general topics that will be covered include:

• Vision, Values, and Mission
• Exploring the 'Tribes' of Riverwest
• Key Practices and Tenets of Anglican Spirituality and Worship
• Missional Church Identity and Practice

 What about lunch and/or dinner?

We want to share a meal together each time we meet.  This will be a potluck meal with the main dish provided.  We are asking all in attendance to bring a sidedish to share.  Please try to bring a dish or beverage that will serve up to 20 persons.

Will there be childcare provided?

Yes.  We will provide babysitters for our time of discussion, study and prayer.  All the children will be included in our meal times.

Can I bring my friends?

Yes, if your friends are willing to committ to all the meetings.  We have discovered that it is better to keep allowing people to join our group so there is an open invitation to bring friends and anyone else interested.
