The AAMU Chicago Alumni Chapter will be donating $200 of school supplies to children at the Bud Billiken parade and we would like to invite you in making this the best year ever for the children of the various South Side neighborhoods where many are underprivileged. We see it as our right and privilege to give back to our community and our future in the area of education. Our chapter award scholarships every year to a few A&M students from the Chicago area, and we’d really appreciate your financial support in order to provide this most important task of helping deserving A&M students as well as giving back to our beloved school. This year we have a goal of donating $400 of school supplies and awarding $2,000 in scholarships and we are seeking donations from alumni, their friends, and other school alumni to make this happen. Below you will find a list of suggested items to be donated. Please note that we are not asking that every item on the list be included, because what a first grader needs differs from what an eighth grader needs. We are asking that all donations (payable to AAMU Chicago Chapter) for SCHOOL SUPPLIES and our SCHOLARSHIP be received to P.O. Box 242 - Bellwood, IL 60104 or online right here by Saturday, August 1, 2009. Please assist us with these two important goals.
Thanks in advance,
Chicago Chapter
