Adoption 101 Workshop is your first step!
Come to AFABC, network with other families and learn what you need to know to make decisions about your adoption journey.
A full day, chock full of information about all of your adoption options and the key issues for adoptive families. Topics include: Adoption Today in BC, BC's Waiting Child Program, Local Infant Adoption, International Adoption, Homestudies, Grief & Loss, Attachment, Openness and your Next Steps. You will take home current, accurate adoption info and a basic understanding about the key issues for adoptive families.
Logistics: Park in any spot in the lot in front of the building. Ring the doorbell and we will buzz you in. Coffee and morning food provided. We suggest you bring a bag lunch as there are not a lot of quick and easy lunch options close by on a Saturday. Adults only please.

Via MichelinAFABC is a non-profit organization that provides province-wide support services and information to people who are beginning to think about adoption, people who have decided to adopt, and those who have already had a child or children join their family. AFABC also plays a significant role in promoting awareness of the thousands of BC children in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development, who are waiting for a family.
AFABC was started around a kitchen table in 1977 by a small group of adoptive parents who needed to share ideas, information, and support.
