Event Details

The DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation (the Trust), in partnership with the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS), is proud to announce the FY12 Green Team: Tag Removal and Community Beautification funding competition. This funding competition invites applications from high performing youth development organizations in Washington, DC that serve youth ages 18-21  who are engaged with DYRS. The Trust seeks to select non-profit organizations that can show innovation and a successful track-record of youth development programming specifically working with juvenile offenders.  Applicant organizations must employ a positive youth development philosophy in its approach and program design. If you are interested in applying for this grant you must meet the following criteria:

  • Eligible applicants must have 501(c) (3) tax-exempt status, been incorporated to operate in the District of Columbia, and providing direct services since no later than October 1, 2010; must be organized under the District of Columbia Non-profit Corporation Act (DC Code, sec.29-501 et seq.); must be a community-based organization, defined as: non-profit agency with a board of directors that is reflective of the community of population served; organization’s primary vision and program focus must be on serving children, youth, and/or families within the District of Columbia; and, organization must be in good financial standing with the DC Office of Tax and Revenue and the Internal Revenue Service as well as follow all appropriate charitable financial reporting standards.
  • All eligible applicants must meet all of the applicable requirements contained in the proposal guidelines and instructions. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be released on Thursday, June 14, 2012. The RFP will be available for download on the Trust’s website at www.cyitc.org.   The deadline for submission to the Trust is Friday, July 6, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. for all submissions. 
  • The Trust will hold two (2) Grant Technical Assistance (GTA) Sessions.   In order to be eligible for this grant, attendance at one of the GTA sessions is mandatory for all applicants

The DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation is the primary resource for developing partnerships that expand and improve services and opportunities for children and youth in the District of Columbia, especially during their time out of school. The partnerships include public schools, city agencies, and employers, including non-profit providers. Since its inception in 1999, the Trust has provided grants, technical assistance, youth worker training, capacity building, learning opportunities, convenings, and policy support in the District.
