Event Details

Our latest rendition of OMG Dinner & A Movie is a treat for foodies and film fans alike.   Our cinematic offering is the documentary LOST BOHEMIA, which offers a glimpse inside the legendary Carnegie Hall apartments- if you were a fan of last years hit, Bill Cunningham New York then this is a film you won't want to miss as it offers a look at Bill's neighbors who you saw in the film and more of Bill himself!   The menu for the evening is inspired by the food popular during the inauguration of Carnegie Hall but prepared with the flourishes of culinary style you expect from Harry's Pizzeria.

From 6 to 7pm there will be a pre-reception in the O Cinema courtyard, featuring a beer & wine cash bar and music by DJ Jessimix.  Doors for the cinema will open promptly at 7pm and dinner will be served immediately with the film screening to follow shortly after.

THE MOVIE

LOST BOHEMIA
For over 100 years, the most significant 20th century artists and performers have lived and worked in the 165 studios atop Carnegie Hall, including Marilyn Monroe, Isadora Duncan, Barnett Newman, Norman Mailer, Marlon Brando, and George Balanchine.  In 2007, the Carnegie Hall Corporation began to systematically evict the artists (some in residence for over 60 years), destroy the studios, and convert the space into offices.

Lost Bohemia is the only film documentation of the Carnegie Studios, the artists, and the Studio’s significant history and offers an intimate, affectionate portrait of these extraordinary people, who share the pleasures and struggles of working in a new New York City that has become increasingly inhospitable to artists.

THE MENU

  • Smoked fish dip & chips
  • Iceberg lettuce, pickled red onion & watermelon w/ blue ranch dressing
  • Pot roast & gravy
  • Goat cheese & scallion mash potato
  • Angel food cake layered with mango jam
  • Spiced popcorn for the snack
