Event Details

 

The Advanced Ambulatory Cardiovascular Therapeutics online continuing education program has been accredited by the Nebraska Council for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education.  Participants will be awarded up to a maximum of 2.8 CEUs (28.0 contact hours) for completion of these activities. Credit will be awarded based on the total number of hours attended. If your Statement of Credit is not received in a timely manner, contact NCCPE at 402.420.1500. 

 

Advanced Ambulatory Cardiovascular Therapeutics is designed for pharmacists provides in-depth advanced instruction concerning the pharmacotherapeutic management of commonly encountered chronic cardiovascular diseases encountered in an ambulatory clinic setting.  Emphasis is placed on the efficacy, safety, and comparative value of drug therapy in this highly specialized practice area.  Didactic knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and drug therapy management is applied to disease states specific to this population.  Each module may be taken separately, or the entire course taken together. 

  
Objectives:

1.    Describe the pathophysiology and clinical course of the major disease processes.

2.    Design and/or evaluate a specific pharmaceutical care plan for the management of major disease processes and provide alternative treatment measures based upon clinical and demographic characteristics.

3.    State desired endpoints of therapy and identify appropriate monitoring parameters.

4.    State desired endpoints of therapy and identify appropriate monitoring parameters.

5.    Identify potential drug-induced problems and adverse effects and their incidence, significance, and management.

6.    Retrieve, integrate and apply information acquired across the pharmacy curriculum into patient care and management.

7.    Develop critical thinking skills in patient and problem assessment.

8.    Develop an appreciation for the interrelationship of multiple medical problems in the pharmaceutical care of the patient.

9.    Anticipate possible outcomes and identify alternate plans in response to a recommended pharmaceutical care plan.
