Protect your business… learn how by attending this no-charge workshop presented by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) with the support of the FBI and the SBA.

You will learn:

o    How to define information security

o    Common best practices to protect your data

You will hear: 

o    Examples of common types of threats

o    A basic explanation of current technologies

o    About free resources available to you to protect your business  

Presented by Richard Kissel of the NIST

Richard writes information security guidelines for Federal agencies and has worked in the information security profession for over 20 years. He is a nationally recognized expert in computer security and is a Senior Information Security

Analyst for the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg ,MD. Prior to joining NIST in 2001, Richard worked as an Information Security Analyst in the Computer Security Office at the Small Business Administration

and holds a B.S. and M.A. in Mathematics from Austin Peay State University. Richard’s Information Security certifications include: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager

(CISM) and the National Security Agency certification in Infosec  Assessment Methodology (IAM). For the past 6 years he has planned and conducted information security workshops for small business owners/operators across the country.
