Outsourcing Software Development // BUSINESS 351

Thursday, June 28th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Peter Bell, Senior VP of Engineering & Senior Fellow, General Assembly

Want an app or a website and don't have a full time development team? In this session we'll look at how you can more reliably select the best developers, specify your software more effectively and then manage the process of delivering your software more successfully. We will look at the traits of great software developers, seven secrets to effectively specifying software and the four key principles for managing software projects effectively.

Peter Bell is Senior VP Engineering and a Senior Fellow at GA. He gives over a hundred presentations a year to both technical and business audiences on everything from specifying software, lean startups and lean software development to mobile development, cloud computing and NoSQL data stores. He has presented at conferences as varied as DLD conference, ooPSLA, the Rich Web Experience, UberConf and the NFJS tour and has been published in IEEE Software, Dr. Dobbs, IBM developerWorks and Information Week. He's currently writing a book for Pearson to help non programmers in "Managing Software Development". He has helped hundreds of businesses to more effectively manage their software development projects.
