LNMC Workshop: Introduction to Photoshop (11:30)
Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 11:30 AM to 12:20 PM (EDT)
Are you interested in learning Photoshop but don't know where to begin?
Do you need a refresher on the interface, the tools and the uses?
Come join us at the Lyons New Media Centre for a free, one hour introductory course on Adobe Photoshop. This first workshop is geared toward students who possess little to no experience with the program, or who are looking to strengthen their basic understanding of Photoshop while learning about the new CS 5.5 interface.
By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:
- Understand the uses and applications of Adobe Photoshop
- Open the program and associated files
- Navigate the interface and understand the basic toolset
- Perform basic image and colour correction to a photo
- Understand image sizing
- Understand output/saving formats
We ask that students bring a willingness to learn, a desire to be creative, and that they leave their fear of new applications at the door. Questions are welcomed, and because of the small class size we will be able to work at a pace suitable for all attendees. The workshop begins at 11:30 sharp.
The course will be led by Greg Atkinson from the Science Media Lab (firstname.lastname@example.org).
