Summer has arrived in Sonoma County and we're looking forward to kicking it off with a popular Family event. This is a great way to start the weekend, so if you want to attend, please sign up today.

Sturgeon's Mill - working Sawmill!
Saturday, June 16th, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Come join SME North Bay as we visit Sturgeon's Mill, located in a beautiful wooded valley between Graton and Occidental. This is a working mill and is in operation for the weekend. A $5 (minimum) donation is encouraged to help promote this wonderful piece of history.
The Sturgeon's Mill Restoration Project is dedicated to restoring the historic steam powered lumber mill to its original condition of running on live steam, reuniting the original properties of Wade Sturgeon and restoring his "Woodland Gardens." We run the mill periodically for the general public on scheduled weekends.
The Sawmill, its artifacts, rolling stock, the mill office & its collection of paperwork of local ranchers and customers from 1914-1960's offers a rare personal look at local history of those years. The mill serves a an anchor to our past; a rare glimpse for the industrial revolution.
Don't miss this opportunity to come out and meet other SME North Bay members and find out if SME might be right for you. SME North Bay puts the MEET into MEET, KNOW, GROW.
This tour ends around noon, and an optional lunch is being catered at a cost of $12 to the general public, so bring some cash and hunker down after the tour for a BBQ under the redwoods and drip some sauce on those rough hewn Picknic tables covered in red-checkered table cloths - this is a fascinating tour - bring the family or friends and don't miss it!
