Event Details
A comprehensive class designed to teach new and expectant parents how to care for their newborn and baby up to 3 years of age. The goal of this class is to help shorten the learning curve and ease the transition into parenting a baby by providing relevant information so that parents can relax and enjoy the newest addition to their family.
Class topics include information on newborn care such as cord care, diapering, and infant nutrition. Learn techniques for soothing a crying baby, get information on baby characteristics and developmental milestones, learn stress reduction methods for parents, and how best to influence social emotional learning in order to have a well disciplined child.

- Tuesday, June 26, 1 - 4 p.m.
- Thursday, June 28, 1 - 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 24, 1 - 4 p.m.
- Thursday, July 26, 1 - 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 21, 1 - 4 p.m.
- Thursday,August 23, 1 - 4 p.m.
$30 for one class
Registrants have the option of also attending 2 sessions of Family Life Skills for a total of $65 for 9 hours of classes ($25 savings); If you choose this option, please call 315-471-8331 to let us know what sessions of Family Life Skills classes you will attend.
About Family Life Skills Classes:
Family Life Skills parenting classes are ideal for all parents, whether you need to fulfill a requirement for court or are interested in strengthening your parenting skills. This program assists parents in reducing conflict, building better communication, developing closer relationships between parents and children, reducing stress and allowing for a better adjustment through difficult transition periods.

The Parent Academy at the Children’s Consortium is designed to be flexible around the needs and schedules of parents. Workshops are effective because they provide opportunities for interaction among parents, practice of concepts and techniques learned, and individualized problem solving.
Certified Parent Educators at the Children’s Consortium recognize that each child is unique and uniquely special, but that some children require more support than others. We believe in teamwork and collaboration between parents and professionals. We believe that a helped parent is a helped child.
Our programs focus on strengthening the role of parents and caregivers as the first and most important teacher of their own children.
Questions? Call 315-471-8331 to speak to a Parent Educator. They are available Monday- Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 to answer parent questions and to provide resources as you tackle the world’s most difficult job: raising a child.
Registration Information
You may use Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover for online payment. Payment and registration must be completed by the deadline listed for each parenting class. If you are unable to register online, you may call 315-471-8331 to register by phone. Please have your credit card ready for payment. Visa and Mastercard are the only credit cards accepted by phone.
Check or cash payments may also be made by mailing or dropping off payment at our office. Your registration is not complete until payment has been received.
Cancellations
If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified 2 days in advance of the class and given a full refund or the option to apply payment to a future class. For inclement weather, please call the agency at 315-471-8331 and enter extension 214 for updated information on classes. The same refund procedure will apply.
Refunds
Refunds will be provided for cancellations made at least 3 business days prior to the training date. Cancellations after that date will forfeit their payment.

Take 690 to exit 14: Teall Avenue. Turn left at the end of the ramp. Go to the 2nd light and turn left onto Erie Boulevard. The office is located on the right just past Bruce Street. Entrance and parking are located around the back of the building.
