LOS ANGELES  — In observance of World Pet Memorial Day and to honor protagonist golden retriever ‘Cowboy’ of Cowboy & Wills, Memoirist Monica Holloway will partner with Maxwell Dog, a unique LA dog boutique, to offer a package including Cowboy & Wills and a Furry Angel Pet Memorial Candle, for 20% off, at Maxwell Dog at 12336 Ventura Blvd. in Studio City, on Sunday, June 10, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Los Angeles Pet Memorial Park.

As the puppy who changed Holloway’s disabled son’s life by becoming his first friend, documented in Cowboy & Wills, Cowboy taught Monica and her family about devotion, loyalty, and never giving up.

“Cowboy held up Wills and our family through worst of times,” says Holloway. “We plan to honor her on this World Pet Memorial Day. In fact, we first found Maxwell Dog when we acquired a beautifully-wrapped memorial candle to honor my friend’s dog when she passed away. ”

Maxwell Dog Store Manager Jillian Roller says of the event, “We are thrilled to partner with Holloway for this importance observance and also to give back to the LA Pet Memorial Park.”

A portion of proceeds from store sales of the day will benefit the Los Angeles Pet Memorial Park in Calabasas, a resting place for over 40,000 animal companions. http://www.lapetcemetery.com/

The pet remembrance candles depict ethereal dogs and cats circling a comforting poem, and are made by Furry Angel. http://www.furryangel.com/index.htm
