There Is A Grassroots Youth Movement in Bangladesh That Needs You
Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, CA
Across the globe, people are demanding freedom and autonomy to build a better future for their country and ultimately, the world. Whether you are participating as an activist or a witness, we invite you to join us in celebrating the uprising of 100,000 youth and over 140,000 activists in Bangladesh who are taking collective action to transform gender relations, strengthen local democracy, respond to climate change and achieve self-reliance.
While the success of this social movement belongs to the people, there is a humble leader who, over the last 18 years, has tirelessly challenged age-old cultural and bureaucratic systems that have marginalized the people of Bangladesh. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Vice President and Country Director of The Hunger Project-Bangladesh, is one of the most respected development leaders in Bangladesh today.
Badiul is joining us to discuss cutting-edge social movement strategies and to invite us to partner with him and his country as they continue to empower women, men and youth to find their voice and become mobilized to take self-reliant action.
We hope you will join us in discovering how we can participate in this phenomenal movement of social change.
