Marcello Bosco of Roche, Basel will present on how he has used DynoChem for Vessel Characterization and Reaction Modelling.  This webinar is based on the presentation he made at the European DynoChem User Group Meeting, which was voted by attendees as the best of the event

As part of a right-first-time scale-up approach, this webinar will be of interest to chemists, engineers and managers working in tech transfer, pilot plant and API manufacturing facilities.

Abstract

The prediction of the reactor temperature during the scale-up is crucial for safety and quality reasons.  From heating and cooling experiments the exact outside heat transfer coefficient (two parameter temperature dependant model) was determined.

With the use of the Simulator window, the prediction of reactor temperature as a function of stirrer type, jacket type, wall material, reaction kinetics, reaction enthalpy and dosing strategy was performed.

The additional implementation of the heat and cooling control system allowed a precise prediction of the dynamic reactor temperature during reaction.

The tool is used for a wide range of vessel sizes (40 to 10 000 L).  The thermal scale-up simulation is used prior to production to identify the "right" reactor and to define dosing rates and cooling temperature to ensure process safety and product quality during production.

Registration is open to DynoChem customers and prospective customers from industry, academia and government.

No hands-on access to DynoChem is required to attend or benefit from this event.

Event audio will be available via your computer speakers and headset.  If attending using your own computer, check your setup here before the meeting.
