Twenty years ago, 13 men and women helped pave the way for African-American journalists in Indianapolis. Their collective efforts helped make it possible for more media professionals of color to get local newsroom jobs, cover our city and bring a diverse and balanced voice in the news reports of print and broadcast media.
On Saturday, June 16, we will pay tribute to these founders of the Indianapolis Association of Black Journalists (IABJ) at a reception to be held at the Indianapolis Star.
Please join us for a night of inspiration as we honor these trailblazers, recognize the achievements of current IABJ members, and celebrate the lives of the young, aspiring journalists who will someday lead our profession. The recepetion starts at 7 p.m.
Your $40 tax deductible donation will help fund IABJ's annual scholarship given to two deserving students from Indiana colleges and or high schools.
