Bedrich Smetana’s autobiographical quartet is paired with Janácek's Intimate Letters; two wonderful examples of the Czech school of composition. The Hess Collection will host a pre-concert special artist talk, "The Inside Story," Artistic Director Michael Adams starting at 6:30. Adams will give the inside scoop about the instruments played by the Pacifica Quartet. Free to concert goers.
The program includes: Smetana: String Quartet, From My Life, Janácek's String Quartet no. 2, Intimate Letters, and Beethoven: String Quartet op.135.
