Event Details

We are delighted to welcome back the Borromeo Quartet to open our 18th festival in the elegant Hudson House, an historic home on the grounds of Beringer Vineyards. The centerpiece is Franz Schubert’s epic quartet Death and the Maiden, perhaps his greatest contribution to the genre, which is equal parts drama and poetry.

For our opening night, Artistic Director Michael Adams will be starting the evening with an Artist Talk about Schubert’s Death and the Maiden and its foreshadowing of the composer’s demise. Free to concert goers.

The Borromeo String Quartet will be performing Bach: St. Anne Fugue, Debussy: String Quartet, Schubert: Quartet in D minor, and Death and the Maiden.

Enjoy a complimentary glass of Beringer Vineyards wine at intermission!
