Join VPF for a special tour of Concrete Safaris' Exhibition at the
Museum of the City of New York

The 2008 VPF grant winner, Concrete Safaris, empowers young people through environmentally focused exercise programs.  The organization focuses on making the connection between community engagement and learning, all with the goal of developing leadership skills.

This special exhibition will show Concrete Safaris' role in helping local high school students design a revitalization plan for East Harlem's Paradise Garden.  The installation will show how students used the principles of architecture, planning, and preservation to create a new vision for this vital community garden.

The project was part of the Museum of the City of New York's Neighborhood Explorers Program.
After the Tour, we will visit Concrete Safaris' Founder Mac Levine and her students at Paradise Garden as they plant seeds and work on improving the park - all part of a Mad Fun Farm Work Day.
