Kathleen Mitchell and Viewpoints Gallery present Colorful Viewpoints. The expressive landscapes of Mitchell are created in watermedia with a dark monoprint base that dictates the direction of the work. Mitchell overlays this base with watercolor and acrylics giving the work a dramatic graphic quality. The painting grows from the first random marks that she puts down into a realistic work of art. Mitchell's subject matter includes landscapes, figurative and semi-abstract work. Michell says, "Exploring the interplay of patterns and color relationships leads in unexpected and exciting new directions."
