Event Details

Join Coutrney Dill Glander and John Jackson from the Project Frog team for a tour of the Hunter’s Point Community Center followed by a discussion centering on Pre-Fab design and construction.

The Hunter’s Point Community Center received a LEED rating of Silver upon its completion in 2011.  Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of this 5000 sq ft space, which hosts arts, education, and neighborhood-based programs in ever–evolving Hunter’s Point.  Following the tour, the architects will discuss how they developed this innovative building and customized it to fit the existing environment.  Topics will include:

1)       Pre-fab design strategies and implementation

2)       Incorporating green building materials

3)       Maximizing energy efficiency

4)       Building in a redevelopment area

Please note that GPS will give you incorrect directions.  The best route it take 101 or 280 to Cesar Chavez Eastbound, turn right (South) onto 3rd street, turn left onto Evans Avenue. Follow Evans, which will turn into Innes. When Innes dead-ends, turn left, then right and you will come to a security checkpoint. Please tell the guard you are with the Project Frog AIA tour. You will see our building 100 yards ahead on the right.
