Simon Tisminezky, CEO/ Founder, SpeedDate
Simon Tisminezky co-founded SpeedDate.com Inc., the world’s first online speed dating website. As CEO, he conceived of the idea, hired the team, and raised multiple rounds of financing. He grew it to 20M users, 40 employees, and hundreds of marriages (including the marriage of one of the SpeedDate engineers). Prior to founding the company, Simon worked at Elfamed, Inc., a biotech startup, as VP of Commercial Operations. He developed the company strategy and operational plan and secured the first research collaborations with big pharma. He also assisted in raising VC funding for Pharmaron, a chemistry outsourcing company based in China. Prior to the business school, Simon worked at Kalypsys, Inc. as Business Development Manger where he focused on seeking, negotiating, and managing the company's strategic partnerships. He has an MBA from Stanford, and a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering and BS in Economics from MIT.

SpeedDate.com is a speed dating website[1] started by two Stanford graduates, Simon Tisminezky and Dan Abelon after an entrepreneurship class at Stanford Business Schoolco-taught by Eric Schmidt.
Originally a Stanford University business class project, Speeddate.com combines online dating and round robin-style speed dating, where singles spend five minutes or less connecting live with potential matches.[2] The domain was acquired in 2007 and since its launch in late 2007, SpeedDate.com has hosted over 60 million online speed dates.[3]Within an hour, users meet up to 15 people using live video and instant messaging. Each date lasts three minutes, after which users can continue the conversation or chat with someone else. SpeedDate secured U.S. Patent Number 7,203,674 covering key aspects of online speed dating.
SpeedDate.com has applications on iPhone, iPad, Android, Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and Meebo.[4] Like many online dating sites, SpeedDate.com is a freemium service and its revenue comes from premium subscriptions.
