Event Details
Please see http://janzeiger.com/portfolio.html if you're looking for information about what to bring to the evaluation. I'm using an automated system for booking appointments, but you're always welcome to email me at mrszeiger @ gmail.com with your questions.
If you are new to homeschooling or just need assistance, you are welcome to book this appointment for a consultation. If you can't find an appointment time that works for you, please email me for more options. I look forward to meeting you! :)
Please note that I am also willing to meet at the Casselberry Library nearby. Consider this option if you are bringing young children without another parent to help. The children's section has more to keep them occupied while we chat. If I don't hear anything from you about switching locations, I'll just plan to meet you at Books-a-Million.
Need more than one evaluation? One evaluation is $40. Additional evaluations are $20.
Payment Options: Paypal is preferred and results in a 10% discount, but you are welcome to pay on the day of the appointment using cash. Just choose the "pay at the door" option when you register. If you use Paypal to pay in advance, please type in "paypal10" as the promotional code to receive the discount.
REMEMBER THAT THE PORTFOLIO EVALUATION IS NOT A TEST!
Need more details about the process? Go back to www.janzeiger.com. Thanks!

Jan Zeiger, Homeschool Consultant & Evaluator
Jan recommends a balanced approach to homeschooling that provides opportunities for hands-on and "delight-driven" learning. The former homeschooling mother of two encourages parents to keep long-term goals for their children in mind when making educational decisions. These goals might include a great sense of self, a lifelong love for learning, and a strong academic foundation.
Jan has worked with more than 100 families in the area and has written articles about homeschooling for local and national publications. She has contributed to her local homeschool community through seminars at Spark Family Enrichment Center as well as her work as a "Field Trip Coordinator" and mentor. She has 5 years experience homeschooling her own children. Her two children recently began attending a wonderful charter school that uses a hands-on, integrated approach. The transition has been a great one, even after homeschooling for a total 5 years.
Jan completed her BA and Master's degrees in Elementary Education at the University of Florida and taught for six years in Seminole County (in both public and private school). She has been assisting families who are new to homeschooling as well as more experienced families since 2006. She currently serves as a language arts teacher of terrific seventh graders in Apopka. She is also pursuing a degree in Ed. Leadership at UCF and plans to obtain her administrative certification in 2014.
